THE CURVE

Many years ago we stumbled across the holy grail of life - The Sigmoid Curve. The curve that explains why success is not permanent, why relationships fail, why economies rise and fall, and why life is not a straight flat road with no turns and hills.

The Curve guides us to a) where you are in life as a business and b) what action to take because of the position . The big mistake always is to call in the cavalry at point D, that results in chaos. We are of course used to chaos and spend 80% of our time arriving in the car park at Point D. We are evangelical about encouraging businesses to call for help at Points A, B and C. Alex Ferguson seems to agree with us, he signs a new striker when he's just won the Premiership often to the calls of "Why does he need one". He needs one because he doesn't want to get to Point D.


So we're here to help, call us no matter where you are on the curve, one things for sure, we'll make a new curve.


There are many principles of life that get ignored but are so powerful if observed. We could wax lyrical about Socrates with his cause and effect to the little known " the one who cares least has all the power ". Over a coffee we tend to expand on these as part of our religion when we're on site. But the cornerstone of our beliefs belongs to Sigmoid and his curve. The flow of the curve will happen come what may, the question is how long the flow takes. Any business that's flourishing today will at some point naturally hit a plateau and from there will begin to decline, sometimes this can take a year sometimes decades…but it will happen. Sometimes the issue is how to get the flow of the curve started ie with new businesses or products, sometimes it's about how to reverse the decline of the curve. Or sometimes it's just about plotting where you are on the curve, if you're business plan is based around one point but you're actually somewhere else the actions you take will have a different outcome (back to Socrates).


Our skill set is in plotting where a business is on the curve and to then plan how to either extend the current trend or more often than not create a new curve . Fascinating to implement and a marvellous creater of energy and focus within a business.


Don't be in denial about whether the curve exists or not, simply embrace the fact it does and then ensure that every time the flow is reaching it's natural plateau you have a new one ready to be created.
